Marukan Plum Shrub Mocktail

Add this new fruity mocktail to your drink rotation.

1 Servings
10 oz.
Fresh Plums, remove seeds and cut in quarters
2 Cups
Sugar
1 Cup
Water
For Serving:
2 - 3
Fresh Basil Leaves, muddled
1/2 oz.
Lemon Juice
1 1/2 oz.
Tonic Water
For Garnish
Fresh Plum, sliced
For Garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

Blend plums in a blender. Bring berries, sugar, and water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. Skim off any fruit scum that has accumulated on top of the mixture.

Add vinegar and simmer for 5 minutes on low heat. Cool and strain into a glass container. Refrigerate for as long as 3 months.

Muddle basil leaves.

To serve, add muddled basil and lemon juice to a glass. Fill the glass with ice, fill halfway with shrub, fill the rest of the way with tonic water, and add sliced plum and basil leaves to garnish.
